Grant B. Walsh - Chairman of the Board
Grant B. Walsh, 59, is the managing partner and Chief Executive Officer of EC Murphy Walsh, a management consulting firm specializing in performance improvement in service, healthcare and health related organizations. EC Murphy Walsh is based in Burlington, Ontario and also has offices in Amherst, New York. Prior to establishing EC Murphy Walsh, Mr. Walsh was the President and Chief Executive Officer of St. Peter’s Health System in Ontario, Canada, a regional provider of integrated healthcare services. Previously, Mr. Walsh was an Executive regional provider of integrated healthcare services. Previously, Mr. Walsh was an Executive Vice President with Service Master Management Services, and over saw 30,000 employees servicing 10,000 client properties in 44 states. Mr. Walsh holds a BA in English and Philosophy from Roberts Wesleyan College and an MBA from Southern Illinois University and has also pursued specialized study at Harvard University, McMaster University, St. Louis University, Cornell University and the State University of New York at Buffalo. Mr. Walsh is an Adjunct Professor in the Executive Education program at the DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University and has received from the DeGroote School of Business and the Conference Board of Canada the designation as a Chartered Director. Mr. Walsh has served on numerous boards of directors.
(Joseph) Shuen Chuen Chan, MBA - Director
Mr. Chan, aged 64, is an executive director of Harmony Asset Ltd.. He obtained his MBA degree from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University, Scotland, U.K. Mr. Chan has over 30 years of accounting and management experience in the fields of industrial manufacturing, service (hotel & charitable) industry, academia and public service. Professionally, Mr. Chan is an associate member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and fellow members of The Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants as well as a member of the Certified General Accountants’ Association of Canada. Mr. Chan is an independent director of Champion Minerals Inc (TSX) since November 4, 2009, Medifocus Inc. (TSX-V) since January 29, 2010, Kaiyue International Inc. (TSX-V Capital Pool Company) since November 2009 and Yin Fu Gold Corporation (OTB, US) since September 2010.
Augustine Chow - Director
Dr. Augustine Chow, PhD, was appointed to the Board of Directors of Medifocus in August 2010. He is a Director of Harmony Asset Limited, a publicly listed investment company specializing in China and Hong Kong. He is also Chairman of Harmony Asset Management Limited, which is the investment manager of Harmony Asset Limited. Dr. Chow is Executive Director of Kaisun Energy Group Ltd. and a Director of Celsion Corporation. Dr. Chow has extensive experience in managing public listed companies that are involved in manufacturing, marketing and financial services, and specializes in mergers and acquisitions. From 1990-1998, Dr. Chow was the Chief Executive Officer of Allied Group of Companies. Prior to this, Dr. Chow held a management position of Brunswick Corporation and Outboard Marine Corporation, and was responsible for all business activities in South East Asia and China.
Ernie Eves - Director
Mr. Eves is the Former Premier of the Province of Ontario. As Premier, his responsibilities encompassed a budget of more than $70 billion and 65,000 employees. Prior to serving as Premier, he was Deputy Premier and Minister of Finance. He held numerous portfolios during his 24 years in public life which began as a member of the Provincial Legislature in 1981. Mr. Eves has had a distinguished career in both the public and private sectors. Currently, he is the Executive Chairman of Jacob Securities Inc., an investment bank. He currently serves as an advisor and board member for several firms in Canada and the United States. Ernie Eves is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School. He was called to the bar in 1972 and in 1983 was made a Queen's Counsel.
(Joe) Kin Foon Tai - Director
Mr. Tai, 43, is an entrepreneur with over 20 years experience in investment, finance, and the capital markets of Canada, the US, and Greater China. Mr. Tai has worked closely with companies and professionals within the finance, mining, energy, and life sciences industries and has built a strong network throughout North America and Asia. He has extensive expertise in facilitating cross-border transactions and strategic partnerships, building cross-cultural business relationships and reaching Asian industrial groups, high net-worth investors and financial institutions. Mr. Tai serves as director for numerous publicly listed companies, including Medifocus Inc. and China Goldcorp Ltd., both of which are listed on the TSX Venture Exchange. In addition, Mr. Tai is the founder, director, president and chief executive officer of ChineseWorldNet.com Inc., a US listed company. Mr. Tai also serves as executive director for Goldpac Investments Ltd. and as a managing director for CWN Capital Inc., a Hong Kong based capital market consultation firm specializing in cross-border transactions.
